An air-storage plant (1) comprising a storage cavern (5), compressors (2a, 2b) for compressing air, and a turbine (8), which is connected to a generator (G1) via a shaft, is integrated with a steam turbine plant (10) by means of heat exchangers (20, 24, 30). The air compressed by the compressors (2a, 2b) is conducted through heat exchangers (20, 24) and cooled on pipes through which condensate from the condenser of the steam plant flows, whereby the condensate is heated. The waste gases from the turbine (8) are conducted through another heat exchanger (30), whereby feed-water flowing though the pipes is heated. The entire process of both plants is improved by their integration due to the fact that by cooling the air, the power consumption of the compressors (2a, 2b) is decreased, and the storable air volume is increased. In addition, by heating the condensate and/or feed-water, the need for extraction steam for heating water and steam is decreased and the efficiency of the steam plant (10) is increased.
