<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion vector searching method that reduces the amount of calculation without increasing a prediction error for a motion vector searching system using correction movement compensation, and is capable of high-speed calculation; and to provide a motion vector searching device, a program, and a recording medium in which the program is recorded. <P>SOLUTION: The lower-limit value calculator 11 of a moving picture processor 1 calculates the lower-limit value of a prediction error E(v) between frames, based on an element that does not depend on a motion vector and an element that depends on the motion vector for utilizing the calculation result of the prediction error E(u) between frames as a minimum value candidate. A comparison section 12 compares the lower-limit values of E(u) and E(v), a prediction error difference calculator 14 calculates E(v) when the lower-limit value of E(v) is smaller than E(u), a minimum value determinator 13 determines E(v) as a new minimum value candidate, and a motion vector processor 15 sets the motion vector in the minimum value candidate as a motion vector for minimizing the prediction error between frames. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
