THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an operation to integrate three-dimensional measurement data acquired from a stereo image with an image of a measurement object to which stereoscopic effect texture is applied by simplifying extraction of features in the stereo image.

SOLUTION: A three-dimensional image display apparatus is disclosed which is provided with: a reference point setting section 21 for setting a point positioned in the neighborhood of a point designated on the reference image of a measurement object 1, and fitted to a features as a reference point; a corresponding point retrieving section 23 for determining a reference point corresponding point on a retrieval image; an orientation section 24 for finding relationship as to corresponding points in a stereo image constituted of the reference image and the retrieval image by using the reference point and the reference point corresponding point based on the photographing position and tilt related with the stereo image; an image correlating section 34 for correlating the stereo image of the measurement object with a model formed by a model forming section 32; and a model display section 35 for displaying the image of the measurement object 1 to which stereoscopic effect texture is applied.
