<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive device which has reduced seek, thereby, can transfer data without delay even to an optical disk having a multilayered structure. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk drive irradiates the optical disk 103 having a plurality of information recording layers in a rotary axis direction with a light beam to read out information from the recording layers and is provided with a buffer 106 divided into two or more regions for recording information read out from the optical disk, a micro processor 104 monitors an access to each layer of the information recording layers and manages access frequencies for each pieces of information obtained by the monitoring, so that the micro processor performs management to the buffer by pre-reading of the information read out from each recording layer of the optical disk to make it possible to efficiently use the buffer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
