PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein production method using a promoter responding to the environmental stress of culture, and a method for controlling RNA production.

SOLUTION: The protein production method comprises culturing a transformant transformed with a vector containing a DNA having function of a promoter responding to the environmental stress of culture and a foreign gene or a foreign DNA fragment on the downstream of the DNA under conditions of the environmental stress of culture.
