<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an liquid crystal display device and a backlight device, which limit the tube unevenness of the liquid crystal display device and the tube unevenness on the lighting surface of a light collecting sheet of the backlight device to a given value, expand a view angle at which a luminance reduces by half, and can improve light distribution property when the lighting surface of the liquid crystal display device and the backlight device are viewed with a specified angle. <P>SOLUTION: Light diffusion sheets 9a, 9b are placed above and below a light transmission/diffusion plate 4 placed on an opening 1a of a case 1 of the liquid crystal display device and the backlight device respectively, to sandwich the light transmission/diffusion plate 4, and light from fluorescent lamps (cylindrical light sources) 3 is projected onto the lighting surface. This can provides the LCD and the backlight device, which improve the tube unevenness on the lighting surface of the liquid crystal cells of the LCD, the tube unevenness on the lighting surface of the light collecting sheet of the backlight device, and the light distribution property. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
