PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid storage vessel which enables ink to be properly supplied to a liquid jet head in a highly reliable manner by generating a predetermined range of back pressure, which can be inexpensively manufactured without being associated with the complication of a structure, and which can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: This liquid storage vessel 12 comprises a main liquid storage chamber 13 for directly retaining the ink 14, and an auxiliary liquid storage chamber 26 wherein a liquid can be stored separately from the storage chamber 13 and whose upper space communicates with the storage chamber 13. A liquid storage space part 27, which is formed adjacently to the storage chamber 26 in the state of interposing a wall in between, is separated from the storage chamber 13, and communicates with an air communication hole 18. A hole, which is elongated between the storage chamber 26 and the space part 27, is formed in the bottom of the wall between the storage chamber 26 and the space part 27, and closed with an ink absorber 16 which generates a capillary force.
