PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patent map display device for performing the patent map display of the output of the number of items based on retrieval formula constituted of a plurality of items, and for grasping the complicate and high level technology contents of patent information at glance on the map, and for improving the efficiency and reliability of an analyzing operation. SOLUTION: This patent map display device is provided with at least an input means and a display means, and configured to display a patent map prepared based on retrieval formula inputted by the input means at the display means. Retrieval formula inputted by the input means is configured by combining a plurality of retrieval items by logical formula, and the number of items of retrieval based on retrieval formula is displayed at a predetermined position such as a matrix map or a ranking map on the display means in predetermined configurations.
