PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor device which has high optical coupling precision and can be manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: This optical semiconductor device has a semiconductor chip 3 for light source, a lens system 6 comprising one or more resin lenses converging light projected from the semiconductor chip 3 for light source, a conductive base 2 on which the semiconductor chip 3 for light source is mounted, and lens supports 4 and 5 which support the lens system 6 at a specified distance from the semiconductor chip 3 for light source mounted on the conductive base 2; and deviation in image point caused owing to temperature variation in refractive index of the lens system 6 is compensated by variation in distance between the semiconductor chip 3 for light source and the lens system 6 caused by thermal expansion of the conductive base 2 and lens supports 4 and 5.
