PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely and inexpensively producing 1,3-propanediol which can suitably be used for various applications such as raw materials for polyester, polyurethane, etc., in improved conversion and selectivity and high yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing 1,3-propanediol comprises using acrylic acid as a raw material.
