PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new carborane compound having electrical conductivity. SOLUTION: The carborane compound is expressed by general formula (1) (R1 to R4 are each independently H, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl, a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group, a substituted or unsubstituted condensed polycyclic aromatic group or a substituted or unsubstituted condensed polycyclic heterocyclic group; when L is 1, at least one of R1 to R4 is a substituted or unsubstituted condensed polycyclic aromatic group or a substituted or unsubstituted condensed polycyclic heterocyclic group; and L is an integer of 1-20).
