Convertible car has windscreen frame with two A-columns moved vertically into raised protective position during accidents

The convertible has a windscreen frame (6) with two A-columns (5) and one connecting top transverse strut (8). In case of accident, the windscreen frame is moved from an original position into a vertically raised protective position. The A-columns are each connected to the vehicle body via a front wall column (3), and are held sliding in these columns. The connection is via long bores, acting as slide guides, and fasteners. The windscreen frame is moved by pyrotechnic actuators (10). A vehicle roof (16) connected to the frame has C-columns (17), and A and C-columns are moved parallel to each other in accidents.
