<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which display surface chromaticity of the display device can be adjusted to desired chromaticity of a user. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device is provided with a back light unit having a plurality of light sources and a picture display panel arranged in a front face of the back light unit, and the device performs monochrome display. The light source has at least three kinds of different luminescent colors which surround a target color on a chromaticity diagram.
