DIGITAL INFORMATION ENCODING/DECODING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital information encoding/decoding apparatus capable of obtaining a decoded signal synchronizing video and audio by a simple configuration.

SOLUTION: The digital information encoding/decoding apparatus comprises: a multiplexer 11 for demultiplexing an audio encoded data stream at the same time as a demultiplexed portion of a video encoded data stream or earlier than the demultiplexed portion of the video encoded data stream just for a time difference from which the out-of-synchronism of video and audio cannot be detected for human beings, arraying the audio encoded data stream prior to the video encoded data stream at the same time, and inserting a start code to a head of the demultiplexed video encoded data stream; a video decoder 22 for starting decoding by receiving the start code in the video encoded data stream; and an audio decoder 18 for starting decoding simultaneously with the start of decoding in the video decoder 22.
