PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection yoke capable of reducing power consumption of a sub deflection yoke. SOLUTION: A wire is wound around a ferrite core 18 of a main deflection yoke into a coil 20 in a toroidal shape. One winding start of wire 20-2-a of the coil 20 and one winding start of wire 12-2-1 of a vertical sub deflection coil 12 are connected together, and the other winding start of wire 12-1-a of the vertical sub deflection coil 12 and the other winding start of wire 20-1-a of the coil 20 are connected to a vertical sub deflection circuit. This can generate a vertical sub deflection magnetic field inside the main deflection yoke. Since the vertical sub deflection magnetic field generated by the coil 20 operates the same way the magnetic field generated by the sub deflection yoke does, the consumption power of the vertical sub deflection yoke can be more reduced than a conventional deflection yoke.
