PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine for smoothly delivering an article to a packet while preventing the article mounted on an article carrying unit from being fallen therefrom. SOLUTION: The vending machine has the article carrying unit with a belt to mount an article line and carry it on the side of its head article and a base having a driven pulley stretching the belt on an upstream side and a drive pulley stretching the belt on a downstream side in the carrying direction of the article line; and a packet having article receiving ports opposed with each other while spacing a prescribed gap on the side of the head article on the carrying unit and moving in a direction orthogonal to the carrying direction to receive the head article of the article line. The carrying unit has a delivery member which is fixed to the base and interposed in the prescribed gap to deliver the head article to the packet therefrom. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
