PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus which can constantly obtain good color reproducibility, even if each color image forming unit is mounted in an arbitrary set position. SOLUTION: When this image forming apparatus forms a color image by superposing four colors, that is, cyan, magenta, yellow and black in an arbitrary order depending on print data, a data processing control part 35 performs under-color elimination for making a black part replace an image part wherein toners of three colors, that is, cyan, magenta and yellow are superposed on one another in accordance with the order of the arrangement of the respective color image forming units, that is, the order of superposition of black, under-color elimination in black addition processing, and a change in the ratio of the addition of black.
