PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily separate gypsum rubbish and a gypsum slurry generated at periodic inspection. SOLUTION: A method for recovering gypsum comprises removing the gypsum rubbish and the gypsum slurry remaining in a system with an appropriate removing means at periodic inspection of desulfurization equipment, then charging the removed mixture A into a provided separation tank 20, and separating the mixture A into the gypsum rubbish and the gypsum slurry. The inner bottom surface of the separation tank 20 is formed to have a prescribed gradient, and a partition 21 having a predetermined mesh is provided at an appropriate position in the tank so as to compart the inside of the tank into shallow bottom side and deep bottom side. Then, the mixture A is temporarily stored in a shallow bottom side compartment comparted by the partition 21, and the gypsum slurry is moved to a deep bottom side compartment so as to be separated and recovered by blowing high pressure cleaning water to the mixture A.
