PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform maintenance of an image forming means such as a thermal head. SOLUTION: A spring 20 brings the thermal head 5 into pressure contact with a platen roller 6. In a contact/separation means 21 which brings the thermal head 5 into contact with the platen roller 6/separates the thermal head 5 from the platen roller 6, a guide member 22, which also serves as a spring 20 seat, comprises a base 23 which is provided in the state of being slidable in the direction of an arrow A with respect to the thermal head 5 via an engaging groove not shown in Fig., a solenoid 24 which serves as a driving source fixed to the base 23, a vertically elongated bracket 25 which is fixed to the base 23, and an L-shaped arm member 27 which is turnably supported on the bracket 25 via a pin 26. When the thermal head 5 is removed, the contact/separation means 21 is separated from the thermal head 5 by pulling a handle 23a in the direction of the arrow. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
