PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a clearance nozzle with a brush prevented from deflecting the brush, even if powerfully pushing the brush against a surface to be cleaned, and easily moving the brush between a use position and a nonuse position. SOLUTION: A guide groove 31 extending from the vicinity of a connecting cylinder portion 16b to the vicinity of the tip of a flat nozzle portion 16b is provided on the outside face of the flat nozzle portion 16b, and a guide projection part 37 linearly moving a brush mount 33 between the vicinity of the connecting cylinder portion 16a and the vicinity of the tip of the flat nozzle portion 16b by engaging the brush mount 33 with the guide groove 31 is provided. The brush mount 33 is turned around the guide projection part 37 along the side of the flat nozzle portion 16a in the tip of the flat nozzle portion 16b to run along a suction opening 24, so that brush bristles 34 are provided so as to freely project from the edge side of the suction opening 24 in the opposite direction to the suction direction, and first and second locking projections 32 and 39 fixing the brush mount 33 to the flat nozzle portion 16b, a connecting portion 35b of the brush mount body 35, and a connecting wall 19 of the flat nozzle portion 16b are provided in the point.
