PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the size of a photoelectric conversion cell while enlarging an opening area of an photoelectric conversion section in an FDA scheme. SOLUTION: Photoelectric conversion (PD) sections 1, 2, 3, 4 each for converting incident light into electrical energy are disposed in the row direction, and PD sections 5, 6, 7, 8 are disposed to be adjacent with the PD sections 1-4 in the column direction. Gates of a transfer transistor 13 included in a first row and of a transfer transistor 14 included in a second row are connected with a first READ line 32, and gates of a transfer transistor 17 included in the first row and of a transfer transistor 18 included in the second row are connected with a second READ line 33.
