The air duct (1) for ventilation systems of motor vehicles has two telescopically connected duct sections (2,3) and a slide stop (2.1) fitted on one of the duct sections. The slide stop is detachably fitted on the allocated duct section (2) in the slide-in direction via a predetermined breaking point which is constructed so that it breaks in the event of an overload through a defined minimum force. The slide stop is fitted on the outer circumferential side of the inserted duct section.
