<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for performing reproduction-position servo without reducing a storage capacity of a holographic recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In reproducing the information on a holographic recording medium 18, part of reproducing light is separated as servo light. The servo light irradiates the recording layer 18A of the holographic recording medium 18 on the same optical axis of that of the reproducing light and from a side opposite to the reproducing light (reference light).
