<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical apparatus capable of easily shaping a laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: An approximately elliptical laser beam L having a vertically long cross-sectional shape is emitted from the semiconductor laser 1, collimated to a parallel beam by a collimator lens 2 and converged to spot light of a fine diameter by a condenser 4 through the aperture 3a of a movable diaphragm 3. The movable diaphragm 3 can be moved in a two-dimensional direction in a plane orthogonally crossing the optical axis of the collimator lens 2 to control the position. The aperture is a horizontally long and approximately elliptical shape and the major axis and minor axis directions of the ellipse are different from the ellipse of the laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser 1 by about 90°. When the position of the movable diaphragm 3 is controlled in the configuration, the laser beam can be shaped to fine spot light having a circular cross-sectional shape on a converged point P3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
