<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately print page numbers according to a single-sided print mode or a double-sided print mode in consideration of the page numbers of insertion sheets. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming system 1 includes an image forming apparatus 10 and a post processing device 90. In this system, an insertion sheet 4 can be directly inserted by the post processing device 90 to a predetermined position without through the image forming apparatus 10 between a plurality of recording sheets to be discharged to a discharge tray 92 through the image forming apparatus 10. Assigning of page numbers to such plurality of recording sheets including the insertion sheet 4 is appropriately performed according to an instruction indicating whether the page number of the insertion sheet 4 is to be considered or not, and, furthermore, according to the setting of the single-sided print mode or the double-sided print mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
