<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular side guard capable of effectively preventing a pedestrian, a bicycle rider, a motorcycle rider or the like from being involved between a front wheel and a rear wheel of a vehicle by a relatively simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicular side guard, a side guard body 12 is mounted on a vehicle body via a support member 13 parallel a side member of a vehicle 10 between a front wheel 10c and a rear wheel 10b of the vehicle 10. An elastic member 16 is mounted on the side guard body 12 so as to cover a space between a road surface between the front wheel 10c and the rear wheel 10b and the side guard body 12. The elastic member 16 has rigidity against the lateral force in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the side member and elastically deformable against the push-up force form the road surface. The elastic member 16 is mounted on the side guard body 12 in a vertically movable manner, and the elastic member 16 is preferably formed of rubber plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
