<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording material which is used for an ink jet recording material, a heat sensitive recording material, a heat development material, an electrophotographic material, and a silver halide photographic material, thereby obtaining images of high image quality, in particular, which ensures the transferability of toner under high humidity environment and the prevention of the void of a black part, and is suitable for electrophotography. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording material includes a support and at least one image recording layer formed on at least one of the sides of the support. The average value of the zeta-potential of the surface of the image recording layer measured by a streaming potential system is in the range of -4 mV to 2.5 mV. It is preferable that the average value of the zeta-potential be in the range of -3 mV to +1 mV.
