<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high grade photographic tone image, in which a roll set and the curling variation of a printed matter due to environmental variation are checked from developing even after a highly colorful photographic tone image is recorded with a thick rolled recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method, in which a hydrophobic liquid is given to and impregnated in a porous ink accepting layer after the formation of an image by an inkjet recording method on the recording medium, at least on the base material of which the porous ink accepting layer is provided and which is formed in a roll, the number of cracks having at least 10 μm in length on the surface of the porous ink accepting layer is set to be not more than 3 per 100 μm square of the surface of the porous ink accepting layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
