<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating organic matter-containing waste water, by which the amount of the waste sludge to be produced can be reduced drastically and the post treatment for discarding the waste sludge can be facilitated and consequently profitability can be made very high when organic matter-containing waste water such as sewage, excreta and factory effluent is treated biologically. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus for treating organic matter-containing waste water is provided with: an initial-stage precipitation tank 1 for introducing waste water (raw water); a withdrawing pump 5 installed in the middle of a withdrawing pipeline 18 arranged in the lower part of the first precipitation tank 1; an organic matter removing tank (an aeration tank) 2; a post-stage precipitation tank 3; a sludge heating unit 4 for heating sludge-containing water containing the waste sludge separated in the post-stage precipitation tank 3 so that the waste sludge is changed into a biologically decomposable form and; an agitating means for dispersing the initially precipitated sludge generated in the initial-stage precipitation tank 1. The amount of the initially precipitated sludge to be withdrawn from the initial-stage precipitation tank 1 is controlled by accelerating/decelerating the withdrawing speed of the initially precipitated sludge-containing waste water from the bottom of the initial-stage precipitation tank 1. It is preferable that the amount of the initially precipitated sludge to be withdrawn from the initial-stage precipitation tank 1 is controlled so that the removal rate of the initially precipitated sludge becomes≤25% of the total amount of the initially precipitated sludge to be generated in the initial-stage precipitation tank 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
