PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field sequential color type display device capable of display which can be viewed even in low-temperature and light environments. SOLUTION: The display device has a 1st display mode in which color light sources of red, green, and blue are turned on by sub-fields fR, fG, and fB and a shutter part is controlled corresponding to the sub-fields to perform multicolored display and a 2nd display mode in which a plurality of light sources are turned on simultaneously in the same sub-field to limit the number of colors.
