PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for a metal wire body and its manufacturing method realizing light weight while ensuring strength and rigidity, reducing deviation of a winding body and capable of suppressing twisting when the extremely thin metal wire body with large weight is wound and paid out at high speed rotation. SOLUTION: In the reel for the metal wire body, flanges 2, 2 are formed by a first flange member 4 made of steel plate and a second flange member 5 and a body member 3 is fitted and fixed to the first flange member 4 making coaxial positioning members 15, 15 as a guide in the state wherein one boss member 13 of an inner core 11 provided with the coaxial positioning members 15, 15 is fixed to a core hole 6 of one flange 2. Spacers 10, 10 are attached to the body member 3 and the other boss member 13 of the inner core 11 is fixed to the core hole 6 of the other flange 2. The other end of the body member 3 is fixed to the first flange member 4 of the other flange 2 and half split cylindrical members 9a, 9b are covered to make an outer body 9.
