The chassis for a lorry trailer or semi-trailer has a frame (1) which consists of a carbon fiber composite material. The carbon fibers of the composite material are impregnated with resin and therefore harden the material. The frame is assembled from preformed parts which consist of chemical fiber reinforced plastic (CFK). The preformed parts forming the frame may consist of several layers of CFK which are orientated multidirectionally to one another.
