A color balance correction device for correcting color balance of an image having a catch light region. A histogram generation section generates a histogram for the pixel gradation level for each of R, G, and B. A reduction tendency region specification section specifies as a catch light region, a range where frequency firstly tends to reduce from the highlight side of each histogram generated by the histogram generation section. A correction amount calculation section calculates the correction amount of the color balance by using pixel data excluding the catch light region specified by the reduction tendency region specification section.
