<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the energy amount and cycle life of a lithium secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous secondary battery comprises a positive pole that contains a positive pole material, comprising a transition metal oxide that is possible to be inserted or discharge lithium, a negative pole that contains a negative pole material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative pole material is a solid compound, containing silicon atoms that can to be inserted and discharge lithium.
