<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle falling off detector to detect falling of needle which is inserted into the blood vessel near the surface of the human body to infuse a medical fluid accurately with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The blood vessel into which the needle is inserted is exposed to the laser beam, and the laser beam reflected by the blood flowing in the vessel V is detected. From the detected result, blood flow rate is detected and whether the needle is slipped off or not is determined by the change in blood flow rate. When the apparatus determines that the needle is fallen, it gives an alarm and informs the user that the needle is fallen with a simple structure without being influenced by disturbance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
