PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an adaptative processing to the frequency amplitude characteristic and phase characteristic deviation of reproducing signals at the time of reproducing a recording medium, to minimize errors at the time of decoding, to realize a stable automatic equalization processing and to reduce the disturbance of video images and sound in a converging process. SOLUTION: An IIR type all-pass filter 14 corrects the phase of signals and a FIR type transversal filter 15 compensates the frequency characteristics of the amplitude and phase of the reproducing signals. An error detector 10 calculates the error of the amplitude of input signals and a target value according to a least mean square method. An adaptive controller 11 controls a filter coefficient of the FIR type transversal filter 15 according to least inclination algorithm. An error counter 12 integrates the number of errors per unit time (error rate). A controller 13 controls the filter coefficient value of the IRR type all-pass filter 14 so as to minimize the error rate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
