PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore unerased data of an optical disk by commanding stop of performance of whole surface erasure of the optical disk and stopping performance of whole surface erasure of the optical disk while performing whole surface erasure of the optical disk. SOLUTION: Information of a read-in area of the optical disk is read, read information is stored temporarily, the read-in area of the optical disk is erased, data of the optical disk are erased successively from an outer peripheral side of the optical disk and data of the optical disk are erased in a whole surface, during performance of whole surface erasure of the optical disk, when stop of performance of whole surface erasure of the optical disk is commanded, performance of whole surface erasure of the optical disk is stopped, information of the read-in area stored temporarily is written in the read-in area of the optical disk based on data of unerased region of the optical disk, the read-in area is restored, and data of the unerased region of the optical disk are restored.
