摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transmission of a shock to other members due to rise of the peak of initial stress by using a shock absorbing member such as a crash box. SOLUTION: A cylindrical wall of a cylindrical member main body 2 formed from an aluminum alloy material is formed with one or two partial punched parts 5 and 6. A part or the whole of the punched parts are, desirably, provided to be symmetrically positioned in relation to the center in an assumed shock direction (for example, axial direction of the member main body). Strength is partially lowered in a part formed with the punched part to restrict the peak of the initial stress low in the initial time when a shock is applied. Thereafter, the member is bent over the whole to show an appropriate stress, and a mean stress value can be maintained high, and the peak of the initial stress is lowered without hindering the shock absorbing performance to prevent transmission of the shock from the shock absorbing member to other members.
