PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency cutoff valve with an opening limiting mechanism capable of confirming the operation in a state of keeping an opening at a degree not causing troubles in the operation of equipment in inspection, besides the complete opening in operating the equipment and the complete closing at occurrence of abnormality. SOLUTION: In this emergency cutoff valve comprising a valve main body 1 connected with a pipeline 6, and a driving means for rotating and driving a valve shaft 7 mounted on a valve element 5 of the valve main body 1, and closing the valve main body 1 by rotating the valve shaft 7 by the driving means 2 in emergency, a rotor 17 is fixed to the valve shaft 7, an adaptor 16 is mounted at an outer part of the rotor 17 in a state of being fixed to a yoke 15, the rotor 17 is provided with an engagement part 18, the adaptor 16 is provided with a stopper member 19 to be engaged with and disengaged from the engagement part 18, the rotation of the valve shaft 7 is restricted by the engagement of the engagement part 18 and the stopper member 19 to limit the opening of the valve main body 3 not to be less than a predetermined value in operating the valve.
