<p>An installation device and an installation method for a piston ring, the installation device comprising a picking mechanism (110) horizontally picking up a piston ring (R) and sets the piston ring at a specified position and, after the picking up, driven so as to return to a wait position after being driven vertically downward by a specified amount, a ring holding mechanism (120) having a guide passage for guiding the picked-up piston ring, driven so as to move close to and apart from the piston ring in one direction vertical to the picking direction, and capable of defining an insert hole for inserting a piston in the center area thereof, a ring diameter extending mechanism (130) extending the diameter of the piston ring, driven in a state of being in and out to the guide passage of the ring holding mechanism, and reversely driven to a position for defining a part of the guide passage when the diameter-extended state of the piston ring is released, and a piston holding member (140) holding the piston at a specified position. Thus, the piston ring can be surely installed.</p> |
