GASKET FOR MOLDING PLASTIC LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket for molding a plastic lens constituted so as to certainly prevent the bubble failure caused by a liquid leak and the suction of air. SOLUTION: A gasket formed into a cylindrical body from a soft plastic material and a pair of the molds 2 and 3 penetrated in the gasket 1 in opposed relationship so as to leave a predetermined interval are provided. The parts expanded diametrically by the penetration of the molds 2 and 3 of the inner peripheral surface of the gasket 1 are formed into taper surfaces 31 and 32 so that the outer peripheral edges 13 and 15 on the sides of the molding surfaces 2b and 3b of the molds 2 and 3 are more strongly brought into contact with the gasket 1 than the outer peripheral edges 12 and 14 of the surfaces 2c and 3c on the opposite sides of the molds 2 and 3.
