PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of conducting a contrast examination accurately and easily. SOLUTION: An area whose CT value is to be monitored, such as the aorta or the like, is set within a tomogram. Because the CT value changes with time due to injection of a contrast agent, the rotation speed of a scanner and the transfer speed of a table is controlled in real time in order to make the CT value of the area within a predetermined range. When the CT value of the area is larger than the upper limit of the threshold value, the rotation speed of the scanner and the transfer speed of the table is accelerated. When the CT value of the area is smaller than the lower limit of the threshold value, the rotation speed of the scanner and the transfer speed of the table is slowed down.
