The invention relates to a transmission monitoring module (30) for an adaptive controlled device for connecting an engine and gearbox for a motor vehicle comprising means (50) for developing a prescribed transmission torque variation by a clutch according to control signals (34) and measured or estimated information (38) about the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle transmission, means (56) for limiting said prescribed transmission torque variation and means (58) for adding a variation to a previous instruction (60) for transmission torque recorded in a memory. Said invention makes it possible to improve the controllability of the vehicle ensuring the mechanical strength of the transmission assembly and reducing the clutch wear.
