Polyvinylchloride contains as a working aid and reinforcing and stabilizing agent an alumina of the hydrargillite type having pseudohexagonal lamellae showing a BET surface area of 30-400 m.2/g., a lamella diameter of 500-2000 </>rA and a lamella thickness of 100-300 </>rA as described in Specification 1,108,125; an amount of 0.5-20% based on the resin may be added. The alumina may be coated with an organic acid or ester or salt thereof, e.g. stearic acid or its calcium salt. Other additives used in the examples are dibasic or tribasic lead sulphate, titanium dioxide, dibasic lead stearate, alpha-phenyl indole, " Hartwachs " wax, and ethyl beta-amino crotonate. |
