A transport and/or storage container for irradiated nuclear fuel elements, defective elements and/or their fuel pins, comprises a container mantle (1), an inner chamber (2) and a fuel element and/or pin holder (3) inside. The holder is held together by neutron absorbing alloy plate connections which form receiving sections (4) in which metal sleeves (5) are located. At least one metal sleeve is used as a container mantle for defective elements or pins.
