<p>The mandrel, designed to be expanded or contracted by the movement of a shoe (1) that is maintained rigorously parallel to the mandrel's axis, has a single means (V) of applying a force along the reel's lengthwise axis, acting on a guide (2) with its outer end keeping parallel to the lengthwise axis via a flange (4) of constant diameter to which the guide is attached. The flange slides along the lengthwise axis of the reel, and the guide acts on the shoe, which is made up of a number of adjacent elements. At the same time the movement of the flange compresses a return spring (5), and during the movement of the guide direct or indirect shoe return springs (7) cooperate with shoe diameter modification components (8, 9, 10, 11) on the outer surface of the guide or inner surface of the shoe.</p> |
