The valve has a regulating screw (31) having a receiving section (32) arranged at one end of the screw and intended for fitting of a travel-generating device (33). The device (33) actuates a valve (47) arranged in the screw (31) and opens and closes a passage opening (53) between an inlet (61) and an outlet (63). The device (33) is integrated on the screw. A regulating space is provided at an end of the screw. An independent claim is also included for an expansion valve for a refrigerating system.
