The method involves determining a cutting schema for a semi log (1) and dividing the log into elementary sectors (S1-S12). Boards (P, p) bounded inside each elementary sectors have different size. The log is cut progressively sector by sector along cutting planes parallel to medullary ray on semi-circular sides of the log. The boards in each sector are cut before cutting succeeding sector.
