The plier has jaws (1, 2) articulated to a body (3) and to a free end (41) of a rod (42) of a piston (4) that is moved horizontally in a chamber, and having blades (12, 22). The jaw (1) is activated in closing direction of the jaw (2) by a hydraulic fluid. The chamber has a compartment (34) containing gas and a compartment (35) receiving the fluid. The gas is compressed and relaxed under the action of the fluid, to open the jaws.
