摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode active material capable of exerting high energy density, and allowing large discharge capacity to be reversibly extracted; to provide its manufacturing method; and to provide an aqueous lithium secondary battery using the negative electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: This application is related to this negative electrode active material for an aqueous lithium secondary battery containing an aqueous solution electrolyte as an electrolyte, its manufacturing method, and this aqueous lithium secondary battery using the negative electrode active material. The negative electrode active material contains LiV<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>having a spinel structure and comprising fine particles each having a particle diameter below 5 &mu;m. In the manufacturing method, material powder is mixed and baked, and thereafter a material mixture becoming LiV<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>after baking is prepared (mixing process), and the material mixture is baked at a temperature below 700&deg;C (baking process). The aqueous lithium secondary battery 1 has a positive electrode 2 containing a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode 3 containing a negative electrode active material, and an aqueous solution electrolyte as an electrolyte; and a substance formed of the fine particles is used for the negative electrode active material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
